Our seniors are mostly in their 70s – 80s and live in the Tanglin Halt and Commonwealth Drive areas. FaithActs conduct weekly fitness programme for these seniors upon assessment of their physical strength and mental capacity. After each exercise session, a number of seniors would stay behind for games with volunteer befrienders who indulges them with meaningful conversations.
Aims of Programme: This programme encourages seniors to be positive and adopt an active lifestyle.
Role of volunteer: Volunteers get to learn the Rummicub game from the seniors. This meeting area serve as a platform to conduct the social activity to bridge communications and engagement with a small group of seniors (3:1 volunteer ratio). The opportunity allows for various contributions to incorporate family or corporate team bonding/building to include the diverse beneficiaries in future activities as part of FaithActs Senior Services and Programmes.
