What is Giving Week about?

Giving Week is a national movement that encourages everyone to give back.
During this week, corporates non-profits and individuals across Singapore come together to make a difference. Whether you choose to donate, volunteer, fundraise or head down to our events, every bit counts towards building our #CityofGood.

It is part of the global movement #GivingTuesday, where people all over the world are dedicated to give back during the holiday season, and ends with International Volunteer Day.

What is happening during Giving Week?

Companies, non-profits and some individuals will be busy running their own giving events. See some of these festival events and campaigns during this week.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Is my donation tax deductible?
A charity that has IPC status will be indicated accordingly. Some IPCs have specified a minimum donation amount for tax deduction. These details are available on
When donating to an IPC, ensure that the option to request for tax deduction is selected and provide the necessary details (i.e. Name as per NRIC & NRIC) in order to receive tax deduction.
The donation details will be provided directly to Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) by the approved IPC and the donation deductions will be included automatically in your individual tax assessment, or where applicable, your corporate tax assessment.
There will be no physical receipt issued by or the Charity. You may keep the email donation acknowledgment as reference for your donation.

We would like to start our own project. How is Giving Week different from Company of Good?
Giving Week typically takes place in December after Thanksgiving. It is a week-long national giving movement that mobilises groups and individuals to come together to give back. Their giving activities last for a week or until the end of the month.
Company of Good is a programme that empowers businesses to give better and more holistically. Companies can gain access to a self-assessment tool, a wide range of resources and an exclusive networking circle. How do I get on-board Giving Week?

It’s easy to get on-board Giving Week. Just let us know about what you’re doing during the week. You could hold a public event showcasing your organisation’s work, run a fundraising activity, thank your volunteers or start a campaign on! If you need help, get in touch with us at [email protected].

How do I get on-board

You must be an organisation that is registered in Singapore in order to join as a non-profit on
Any non-profit organisation registered in Singapore can join as a beneficiary and seek volunteers for events and activities they organise.
Registered charities and Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs) are also eligible to raise funds and receive donations.
Ground-up movements wishing to join us may contact our administrative team and will be approved on a case-by-case basis.
