Giving Week 2018 Highlights

In case you missed it, here’s a quick highlight of some of the happenings at Giving Week 2018.

Head over to our Facebook page for the full photo gallery.

Ng Teng Fong General Hospital: Good Neighbour Day

Ng Teng Fong General Hospital celebrated Good Neighbour Day and had corporates and Non-Profits Organisations (NPOs) in the west region coming together to make a difference. There were blood, books and clothes donation drives, social enterprises and community partners rallying the folks living and working in the west to learn more about the issues in the neighbourhood and sharing with them the volunteering opportunities in their locale.

Sports Hubs Community Play Day: Season of Giving

Singapore Sports Hub held their annual Community Play Day: Season of Giving in collaboration with Giving Week. It was a time of family fun or for friends to just hang out, while supporting different causes.

It started with charity runs on both mornings, carnival rides, inflatable playground for children, festive bazaar, donation in-kind drive by Red Shield Industries, and a Build-to-Give activity by Lego which saw children creating Christmas ornaments. Everyone who stayed till the evening also had a visual treat as ChariTrees lit up the Stadium Riverside walk.

The Giving Street @ Club Street & Ann Siang Gourmet Campus

Club Street and Ann Siang Hill was taken over by over 40 NPOs and ground up movements. There were performances by Beyond Social Services, Metta Hotsteppers, Syncrony, The Salvation Army, and The Acapella Society; friends from the 501st Legion came by dressed in Star Wars characters, roving the streets. The streets were buzzing with Trishaw rides by Cycling Without Age and social enterprises selling their wares.

The public was also invited to take part in micro-volunteering activities to help them understand that giving comes in all forms and they can give back while pursuing their interests.
